INFINITY FISH PRODUCTIONS

F.A.Q.

NOT THE SAME

What does the name "infinity fish" mean?
The name comes from notes I took during a high school physics class. The instructor wanted to make sure we didn't draw our infinity symbols sloppy so he stressed in the logic equation "infinity does not equal fish" using symbols of course. Underneath that I wrote the words, "not the same." It has not context to Christianity or Darwinism presently though that could be misconstrued granted.

Should I digitally archive my tape or record?
While we are a company that believes in following copyright laws, seeing as how we produce original scores for either sell/lease, we do believe in music preservation more than any regionally imposed sub laws. If you own an analog medium that has not been reissued on CD or is no longer available, you may wish to consider the transfer of your library to a digital format. This back up copy or personal copy cannot be resold, nor are we selling IT. We are movers helping you move you "property" within your household.

How much do you charge for archiving?
Cheap. Prices start at 25 dollars an hour. An average full length LP takes about 3 hours to do. This includes the transfer and noise reduction, pops and clicks, and volume level clean ups. For longer albums or particularly bad condition material, rates are $50 an hour.

Can I mail you my record or tape?
Yes. If I can produce a sound with it I can transfer it. Currently doing cassette, record (33 and 45) and most reel-to-reel machines. If you have a 2-inch reel-to-reel tape mix down that was or is a demo tape, you may wish to take it to a larger studio where they can add the sparkle of Radio Friendliness. Rates will be slightly higher though.

What types of soundtracks do you produce?
We produce original scores for film, video, video games, commercials, infomercials (sadly enough), radio plays, audio dramas (books on tape), and Flash as well sound effects and sound design.

Who do you employee in your music?
A host of local Portland musicians are brought in as needed after a score has been written.

How much do soundtracks cost?
Short Short films are around 2-4 hundred dollars. Short films and feature films will be priced by project complexity.

How much do web sites cost?
For a redesign of an already existing site of under twenty pages, 2-5 hundred dollars. For sites created from scratch, prices range from five hundred to two thousand. Types of sites welcome; small businesses, bands, artists, writers, personal sites, et al. Domain hosting as well as active pages, php, perl, and java resources are also available upon request.

How much extra for Flash™?
Adding a banner to an html design is $50 more and two hundred dollars more for an intro. Please don't order an intro. No one likes them and 89% aren't seen because of the skip button. You have to put a skip button on. It's only fair. For stand alone banners; 3 hundred dollars. For an intro; five hundred dollars. Cost for an entire site in Flash will vary upon client's request.
